PCOS has a new name! Formerly known as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), the new name Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) reflects the impact of the syndrome beyond the reproductive system.

This initiative was led by Monash University and involved over 14 years of research and over 22,000 survey responses.

Dr. Jamie Benham and Robyn Vettese (Patient Partner) were featured in a Calgary Herald article discussing the name change, find it here: Ovarian syndrome gets renamed as experts move away from PCOS label | Calgary Herald
