Sherry Brudnyi (she/her) is a first-year medical student at the University of Calgary, as part of the Leaders in Medicine joint-degree MD/graduate program. Sherry graduated top of her class from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Nursing in 2023. She worked as a Registered Nurse on cardiac surgery and medical teaching units before beginning her MSc in Cardiovascular and Respiratory Sciences at the University of Calgary in 2024. In collaboration with EMBRACE, Sherry’s MSc thesis explored patients’ experiences of receiving virtual care for gestational diabetes in Alberta. She successfully defended her MSc thesis in April 2026. She is currently conducting a secondary analysis of her thesis data, mapping the patient journey for receiving gestational diabetes care in Alberta. Outside of her studies, Sherry enjoys taking dance and fitness classes, travelling, and spending time in nature with friends.
