Sherry Brudnyi BN, RN

Sherry Brudnyi (she/her) is a second-year Master’s student. She is in the Leaders in Medicine joint-degree Program, pursing her MSc in Cardiovascular and Respiratory Sciences alongside her undergraduate medical education at the Cumming School of Medicine. Sherry graduated top of her class from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Nursing. She works as a registered nurse with Alberta Health Services at the Foothills Medical Centre. Having cared for patients with mental health challenges, Sherry explored mental-illness related stigma in a clinical setting as a research assistant with the EMBER study. Her clinical experience fostered her interest in diabetes management and cardiovascular risk, while her research experiences motivated her to explore patient experiences. Her thesis will investigate the effects of virtual care on gestational diabetes management in Alberta.

In her spare time, Sherry enjoys taking dance classes and volunteering in older adult outreach programs.
