Meera Sylvain

Meera is in her fourth year of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Calgary and is thrilled to be conducting research with the EMBRACE Women’s Health Research Lab, where she will study fluctuations in interstitial glucose across the menstrual cycle in women with PCOS. She previously gained research experience in the De Buck Veterinary Medicine Lab, focusing on phage therapy for Johne’s Disease, which affects cattle in Alberta. Raised on a farm, Meera is passionate about agriculture and has also developed a strong interest in women’s health and wellness. Outside of academics and research, she is a singer-songwriter who finds joy in performing her original country music across Alberta.
