Karen (she/her) is a PhD Clinical Psychologist working in private practice in Calgary. Her graduate training provided her with both research and clinical experience in the mental health field, including health/rehabilitation psychology. She also brings expertise in equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA) as a Patient Partner in numerous research labs across Canada, as well as an EDIA Consultant for various organizations. As a Patient Partner of the EMBRACE Lab, Karen helps ensure that the voices and needs of patients are carefully considered and incorporated, particularly those of patients from marginalized backgrounds (e.g., disabled, BIPOC, gender diverse), as these communities are often not adequately represented in health research. Outside of the EMBRACE lab, you can find Karen spending time with her friends and family, hiking, painting, and travelling.
