Karen (she/her) is a PhD Clinical Psychology Candidate at Dalhousie University, where she has gained both research and clinical experience in the mental health field, including health psychology. She also brings expertise in equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA) as a Patient Partner in various research labs across Canada as well as an EDIA Consultant for various organizations. As a Patient Partner of the EMBRACE Lab, Karen helps advocate for and ensure the voices and needs of patients are carefully considered and incorporated, particularly patients from marginalized backgrounds (e.g., disabled, BIPOC, gender diverse), as these communities are often not adequately considered in health research. Currently, Karen is a Psychology Resident at Saskatchewan Health Authority and plans to return to her hometown of Calgary after the successful completion of her doctoral training.
