Active Studies

You can help us learn more about women’s health challenges like PCOS and gestational diabetes.

Predicting Dysglycemia in Individuals with Gestational Diabetes Immediately Postpartum Using Continuous Glucose Monitoring (PREDISPOSE)

The risk of developing type 2 diabetes is increased after having gestational diabetes in pregnancy. It is therefore important that people who have a history of gestational diabetes get tested for type 2 diabetes after pregnancy. Calgary is one of many sites across the country examining if continuous glucose monitors after delivery can predict diabetes postpartum. Contact our team if you’re interested in learning more.

Virtual Care and Gestational Diabetes

Virtual care in healthcare using telephone and video conferencing has increased in recent years. We are conducting a study to understand how the shift to virtual care has impacted health outcomes for people with gestational diabetes and their babies. We are also interested in how people with gestational diabetes and the people who provide healthcare for gestational diabetes feel about the use of virtual care compared with traditional in-person care. Results on how virtual care has impacted health outcomes was presented at the Diabetes Canada conference in Halifax in November 2024. Details can be found here.
