Jenna graduated from the University of Calgary with a first-class honours degree in biomedical sciences. She represented the health sciences faculty as class Valedictorian. She is pursuing her MD at the University of Alberta.
Jenna has been working in the EMBRACE Women’s Health Research Lab since the summer of 2023. In her summer project, she researched screening for cardiovascular disease risk factors among females with PCOS. As part of her fourth-year thesis project, she investigated the associations between hyperandrogenism and cardiometabolic disease in females with PCOS. Currently, Jenna is developing and validating an administrative health case definition for PCOS. In addition to her passion for women’s health research, Jenna is also interested in newcomer population health and researched the anti-racist actions, attitudes, and practices of students at the University of Calgary.
In her time as a student, Jenna has volunteered with and led the Wellness and Health Awareness Team (WHAT), acted as a suicide awareness and education ambassador, and was a part of the Student Union’s Equity Diversity and Inclusion Taskforce (EDIT). She also plays ice hockey for the Lebanese national women’s team.
