Jenna Evanchuk (she/her) is a medical student at the University of Calgary. Before her current program, she obtained a BSc in Biological Sciences and Nutrition and an MSc in Nutrition and Metabolism from the University of Alberta. Her previous research explored how the physiological status of nutrient metabolites changed throughout pregnancy and how these dynamics related to birth outcomes and mental health in birthing parents. As a part of Dr. Benham’s lab, Jenna has been working on a systemic review exploring cardiometabolic screening practices after people have been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome. She is passionate about equitable access to healthcare, reproductive and sexual health, and food security.
