PCOS Patient Advisory Council

Research

No Longer Recruiting

We are conducting a patient-oriented research project focused on improving self-management tools for individuals with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) in Alberta, guided by international evidence-based recommendations. Led by the University of Calgary, this initiative emphasizes the co-creation of inclusive, accessible, and reliable resources with active participation from individuals with lived PCOS experience. We have created a Patient Advisory Council , where Patient Partners help shape research priorities, contribute to participant recruitment, assist in data analysis, and aid in disseminating findings. This study is funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.

Key project details:

  • The project follows the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research (SPOR) framework.
  • The advisory council began meeting monthly in January 2025, with a commitment of at least one year.
  • Compensation is provided in alignment with the AbSPORU Patient Partner Appreciation Guidelines.
  • Patient co-researchers will have opportunities for skill development through workshops.
